Idea 4: Original Idea

One of my favourite openings of a TV show is the opening scene to The Wrong Mans; Sam (Mathew Baynton) wakes up after his housemate's party, begging his girlfriend to not break up with him via countless voicemails, and he relives these memories while walking to work down a snowy country road before witnessing a car crash and finding the victim's phone - only to pick up a call to the phone stating 'If you are not here by 5 o'clock, we will kill your wife.'. This opening is all so intense, it literally goes from zero to one hundred as Sam's life gets completely flipped upside down on such an ordinary day. I love the idea of recreating something similar in terms of mistaken identity, and the way The Wrong Mans did this with the mundane, average life build up of Sam's character before totally flipping it on its head was really effective for me. It would also be relatively easy to create, and I would just need to be careful about steering too close to the TV show.
